Do I need a separate ChatGPT Plus or Claude subscription?

Yes. Cain is an orchestration layer that runs on top of your subscriptions. You connect your active subscription (ChatGPT Plus / Codex / Claude Code or another LLM), and Cain uses it to talk to the models. Cain doesn’t buy tokens for you — this preserves privacy and gives you control over which models the assistant calls.

Who pays for the dedicated Hetzner server?

The server is included in your monthly Cain subscription. It’s not a separate fee — we handle the entire infrastructure: server provisioning, setup, monitoring, updates. You don’t need a Hetzner account and don’t need to deal with infra.

How is Founders different from the standard rate?

The product is the same — what differs is the price and how close you are to the team. Founders is the first 20 seats: $49/mo instead of $89, and that price holds for as long as your subscription runs without a break. It also comes with a direct line to the team, influence on the roadmap and priority on new capabilities. Once those seats are taken the product stays exactly the same, at the standard rate.

When is the public launch?

Cain is available now: the first 20 founder seats are open, at a rate locked for as long as your subscription runs. After those, the standard rate applies. A wider public launch will follow once the system has proven itself reliably in real-world scenarios.

Can the price go up?

Accepted Answer

Not on Founders: your price is locked for as long as your subscription runs without a break. Cancel and come back later, and the rate current at that time applies. On the other plans the price can change as the product evolves, but always with notice in advance — nothing is ever charged at a new price without telling you first.

Do you have a referral / partner program?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Recommend Cain and earn a commission on each new client’s setup fee — from 5%, up to 15% as you bring more clients. You get a personal referral link and promo code, a private dashboard for clicks, conversions and balance, and payouts in crypto. Apply on the partner page — we review every application personally.

What happens to my data if I cancel?

Before disconnection Cain sends you an archive of your full memory and context (see next question). After that the dedicated server is shut down and data is deleted within 7 days. No copies remain on our side or with third parties.

Can I export my memory?

Accepted Answer

Yes. On request or upon disconnection Cain bundles your full memory — Life Feed, conversation context, agent notes — into an archive of markdown files and sends it to you in Telegram. You can open this archive in any note tool: Obsidian, Notion, Logseq, or just a text editor.

Does Cain see my Telegram chats with other people?

No. Cain only sees the messages you write directly to its bot. Your private chats, group chats and channels in Telegram stay private.

What if your service shuts down — what about my data?

Your data stays available to you as a markdown archive that we send via Telegram before any shutdown. The architecture is built so that critical memory is never locked on our side.

How long does the initial setup take?

Tech-savvy users finish setup in ~5 minutes. If you’re new and want to read each step thoughtfully — ~15-20 minutes. Cain walks you through every step right inside Telegram: connecting the bot, authorizing your AI provider through its own secure login (OAuth — your password is never shared with Cain), a short personal onboarding.

What technical skills do I need?

None. Cain shows each next step right in Telegram. If you can install a messenger and sign in to your AI provider’s account — that’s enough. No terminals, configs or server admin.

Can I use my own hardware instead of Hetzner?

Accepted Answer

Not yet. Cain runs on standardized Hetzner infrastructure — this lets us guarantee stability and fast support. We may add a self-host option later, but it isn’t a priority right now.

What languages does Cain work in?

Accepted Answer

Cain is an advanced AI assistant and works in any language you write in. You can switch languages mid-session — it’ll follow. The site is currently localized in 6 languages (EN, RU, ES, DE, FR, AR), but Cain itself isn’t limited to that list.

Which agents are available? Can I add my own?

A set of specialized agents is connected by default, covering most scenarios — from research and project documentation to planning, training, content and notes. If you need an agent that’s not in the standard set, we can add it on request.

Cain is open to integrations via standard APIs. The current list and roadmap are discussed individually at onboarding — priorities adapt to your scenarios. If a specific tool is critical for you, tell us, and we’ll figure out whether it can be connected now or in the next sprint.

Can a family or team share a single Cain?

Cain is built for one specific person. It holds your context, remembers your decisions and adapts to your work style. If multiple people use one Cain, its context “blurs” and quality drops sharply. For a team or family — a separate Cain for each member.

How is Cain different from ChatGPT with memory enabled?

Cain is not an alternative to ChatGPT — it’s a layer on top of it. Main differences: Telegram-native. Communication happens in the messenger you already have open. Text, voice, screenshots, files — all in a familiar environment. Memory without a ceiling. ChatGPT memory is limited — it trims the old, forgets context between chats. Cain keeps everything on the dedicated server: Life Feed, projects, habits. Specialized agents. Different tasks are routed to different models. Not one universal — a team. Morning briefings.
